In 2005, Mark assumed ownership of the practice, initiating significant transformations. Now the practice stands as one of Fisherton Street's most esteemed businesses. Outside his professional pursuits, Mark finds joy in rugby, forest walks, cycling, photography, and savoring Indian cuisine.

Carl, a cherished member of MJEC since 2012, has ascended from part-time optical assistant to a fully qualified dispensing optician/assistant manager. Beyond the practice, Carl enjoyed a brief yet successful stint in music, harbours a deep passion for sports, and dotes on his beloved dog Monty.

Anka, our optometrist from Australia, has been an integral part of our practice since 2015 and has earned a special place in the hearts of our patients. Devoting her life to the field of optometry, she continually strives for self-improvement and explores innovative technologies in optics. 

Stuart splits his time between us and Salisbury District Hospital, working a few days each month. His genuine enthusiasm for clinical optometry is evident, especially during emergency CUES appointments in the practice. Originating from Frome, Stuart is a family man with a  playful pup named Roofus.

For over a decade, Sarah has been an integral part of MJEC, setting the standards for our operations. She played a pivotal role in shaping Carl and Emma into the dispensing opticians they are today. Beyond her professional excellence, Sarah is an avid traveler with a passion for antiques and all things French.

Joining us in 2020 amidst lockdown, Emma has thrived in her role and is now in the final year of her dispensing optician training. The heart and soul of MJEC, Emma is universally beloved. Recently married to her long-time partner, Matt, she brings a warm and positive energy to the team.

Annalise, an MJEC team member since September 2023, has infused our practice with a calm efficiency that is truly remarkable. A quick learner, she stands out, and her talents extend beyond the workplace—Annalise spends her time at home crafting garments and crocheting blankets for loved ones.

Jeanette is the definition of a bubbly character. With years of excellent experience working in customer service and the care sector, she has all the right attributes to flourish at MJEC. Jeanette has been with us since October 2023, and has already made an impression on our

patients.

Dr. Virginia Collis, affectionately known as Ginny, brings a wealth of medical experience to MJEC. Initially trained as a vet, she made a switch to audiology (a field she shares with her husband) and has never looked back. Ginny's passion for hearing device technology is a perfect match for us.

Marvin, our nocturnal virtuoso, thrives in solo missions in the dark, attempting daring vacuum feats at the practice. However, more often than not, he ends up beached, upside down, and delivering a symphony of complaints. While you might not cross paths with Marvin, rest assured, his work, albeit unconventional, is still crucial.
