Tyra Louw
Tyra Louw is our clinical receptionist here at MJEC. She’s usually the first person you’ll meet when you come in, ready with a warm welcome and a friendly smile. Tyra keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes, from booking appointments to making sure patients feel comfortable and looked after during their visit.

What I love about my job: I’m really grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given in just six months here. What’s made the experience even more special are all the wonderful people I’ve had the chance to meet and chat with, and the incredible team I get to work alongside, who made me feel so at home from the very start at MJEC. Their support and encouragement have truly inspired and motivated me to keep growing and giving my best every day.

Fun fact: I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and moved to England with my family when I was nine years old. It’s still a big part of who I am, and I love going back whenever I can, especially for the hikes, the amazing scenery, and of course, a good braai with family and friends.

Favourite glasses brand: Kilsgaard – They are incredibly chic, modern and chunky!

Proudest achievement: Having the courage to travel solo while volunteering abroad was life-changing. The first time I travelled alone, it was extremely daunting, but after that initial trip, I developed a real taste for it and didn’t want to stop. I began going somewhere new every year for a month at a time, eager to make the most of the different cultures, cuisines, and activities each place had to offer.

Superpower: Throughout my life, I’ve always been a quick learner, and this has helped me enormously during my time at MJEC. It would have been easy to feel overwhelmed by the amount I needed to learn to do my job, but picking things up quickly has allowed me to settle into my new role with confidence.
