Emma Coombs
Emma is our main dispensing optician here at MJEC. She has a real talent for helping people find glasses that not only look great but also feel comfortable and fit their lifestyle perfectly. From advising on lenses to guiding frame choices, Emma takes the time to understand each person’s needs, making sure they leave with eyewear that truly suits them.

What I love about my job: The best thing about my job is the people! I love helping people with their eye care, from picking new frames to selecting lenses. Each day in practice is different, meeting different people day to day.

Fun fact: I won the Rising Star Award in March 2024 at the Salisbury Business Awards. I had just come back from a really tough week at college, so this was a wonderful surprise! I also got married to my wonderful husband Matt at the church in Stratford Sub Castle in 2021.

Favourite glasses brand: Woow! I love the colours and styles. I have had many WOOW frames, and they never get boring!

Proudest achievement: In October 2024 I qualified as a Dispensing Optician. This was a huge achievement for me. I studied for 3 years to achieve this, and a year prior to that, I completed evening classes at Wiltshire College, retaking my maths GCSE, and I also completed the optical assistant course alongside. All my hard work and determination paid off.

Superpower: Organisation! I love keeping things in order and making sure everything runs as smoothly as possible. It really helps with my work and helping to deliver the service we strive to provide.
