Anka is our senior optometrist here at MJEC, originally from Australia. With years of experience in eye care, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a calm, reassuring approach to every appointment. Anka enjoys taking the time to get to know her patients, carrying out thorough eye examinations and giving clear, thoughtful advice to help people look after their vision.

What I love about my job: Vision is a priceless gift, and it's deeply rewarding to help protect it, especially while meeting so many interesting people along the way in the many years of being an Optometrist.

Fun fact: People say 24 hours from Sydney to the UK by air is a long trip, but when I was a child, my parents decided to take the scenic route by ship. It took 1 month, but what an adventure!

Favourite glasses brand: It's hard to choose from all the brands at MJEC. They each bring something unique and stand out from the usual options you see everywhere else. My current pair are Woow and I love them.

Proudest achievement: I’m the proud mother of two daughters who’ve grown into kind, thoughtful, and intelligent women. It has been the greatest joy watching them become who they are.

Superpower: Whilst watching TV or movies, I'm constantly spotting squints and guessing the actors' prescriptions if they're wearing glasses. My husband calls it very annoying... I call it my Optometric talent.
